Keresley Rugby Club Get Vital Sponsorship.
Mercia Facilities Management has provided sponsorship to help train and develop the junior/senior section of Keresley Rugby Football Club.
Keresley Rugby Club, based at Burrow Hill Lane, Corley Coventry, have been appealing for donations or support to help maintain and develop a new generation of coaches and players.
Mercia Facilities, based in Coventry, have provided £350 sponsorship to the club – This has been extended to provide this support annually over a 3 year period. In addition to supporting additional events throughout the season.
Paul Vuckovic, one of the Directors at Mercia Facilities, said: “I was a member of Keresley Rugby club when I was playing, the social and playing side of the club was absolutely fantastic, The current management team at the club are developing the club house and the playing facilities for not only rugby, but other sporting activities, It has been a very memorable part of my sporting and social life.
“Rugby is a great activity for young people to get involved in, it’s great to keep active, socialise and build teamwork skills.
“Gareth Whitehead said I’d like to thank Mercia Facilities for their help, every donation or sponsorship is crucial to the ongoing success of the Keresley Rugby club.”
The long-standing club has been operating for over 50 years and many of the current coaches are now nearing retirement.
The club plans to use the money to fund training and equipment for their new coaches by the RFU and players from the local community.
So far, they have raised enough to develop certain areas of the club house, as well as improving the training and playing facilities for its members. Most of these individuals work entirely on a voluntary basis.
New and existing coaches are made up primarily of ex-players, and parents who have an interest or experience in the sport.
Paul Vuckovic at Mercia Facilities, added: “A club like Keresley Rugby club is brilliant for young people and it is vital that they are able to stay open and operating at a high standard.
“I hope the club reaches its target and is able to compete and operate at the highest level for many years to come.”
